Standard First Aid (SFA)

This course is designed for participants to acquire basic first aid and life-saving skills. Set in a fun and casual environment, there are ample hands-on opportunities to practise what you have learned. By the end of this course, you will be equipped with practical and theoretical knowledge of handling emergencies in homes and at workplaces. No prior medical or rescue knowledge is required.

A re-certification course is also available for those who have been trained previously.

Medicine Kit

Workplace First Aid with CPR/AED

Equipped with first aid proficiency, employees can help to ensure a safer working environment. 

This 3-day course is designed to instruct, qualify and give participants the confidence to take on the role as first aiders in the workplace. This interactive training provides participants with opportunities to apply practical and theoretical knowledge to handle emergencies at the workplace should the need arise.

A re-certification course is also available for those who have been trained previously.

Physical Therapy Session

Sports First Aid with CPR/AED

The recognition, assessment and immediate on-site management of sports injuries is crucial to facilitate rehabilitation and minimise further risk of harm. This course is designed for coaches, instructors, teachers, lifeguards and volunteers who are often in contact with athletes or sports activities. Participants will acquire skills to carry out appropriate medical assessment and methods for management for a wide variety of sports-related injuries. Life saving techniques involving Standard First Aid, Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and usage of Automated External Defibrillator (AED), essential for participants to be prepared in emergency situations, are also included in this course.

PedFACTs Child First Aid

(Pediatric FIrst Aid for Caregivers & Teachers)

This course aims to provide relevant knowledge and skills in rendering first aid treatment to a child or infant during any emergency at home, childcare centres, or in pre-schools. It is suitable for caregivers, teachers and others who care for children. The PedFACTs course focuses on what to do if a child in your care suddenly becomes ill and how to render first aid to common injuries and medical emergencies among infants and children.

This course is accredited by the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP), dedicated tot he health, safety and well-being of infants and children.

Course Content

  • Apply the 4Cs of Pediatric First Aid to medical situations

  • Recognise symptoms of an ill or injured child

  • Identify specific types of medical problems and render appropriate first aid treatment

  • Know when to activate appropriate emergency medical services (EMS) and follow the Emergency Action Principles

  • Perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) for infants and children

  • Understand an automated external defibrillator (AED) and how to use one

  • Know what to do when a child is choking

  • Respond to breathing emergencies

  • Use of epinephrine auto-injector for severe allergic reaction

First Aid Kit

Community First Aid (CFA)

The key to life-saving is first recognising an emergency. This one day course is ideal for companies, families and organisations to glean basic first aid awareness and learn hands-only CPR. The course is held in a casual and fun manner, while continuing to be highly educational. 

 

There will be no testing for this course.

Wilderness First Aid (WFA)

While many take on rugged journeys to remote areas and travel off the beaten path, safety remains of utmost importance for adventurers and guides. 

​

The Wilderness First Aid course is designed to introduce the concepts of medical care in a wilderness setting. Some topics include a focus on Basic Life Support skills, minor trauma, selected environmental topics, spine assessment, allergic and toxic reactions, and medical emergencies common for outdoor activities. Ample simulation exercises will be conducted to give participants an opportunity for hands-on practice of skills acquired.

Course Content

  • Beyond the "golden hour": Wilderness/remote travel/disaster-delayed EMS Arrival injury challenges and long term patient care

  • Patient Assessment System - how to examine the patient, provide treatment, monitoring, safety and documentation

  • Orthopaedic injuries and treatment (such as sprains, strains, fractures and spinal cord management)

  • Circulatory System Form and Function - Heart, blood, blood vessels, lungs and brain

  • Soft tissue injuries and wound treatment (such as contusions, abrasions, lacerations, amputation, punctures, bites, stings, blisters, burns and infections)

  • Environmental injuries and treatment - Cold, heat, dehydration

  • Medical Emergencies and Critical Care - Shock, allergies, shortness of breath, brain and heart problems

  • Patient movement - spinal cord precautions and carry methods

  • International Travel: preparation, problem prevention and illness treatment
